Status Report 2018

Hello,

Although some details are not 100% clear, I think it's time to inform you about the planning and changes for the 2018 season.

1. The predicate:

Discussions have been held with national associations and offers have been obtained. In short, a national predicate is neither cheaper nor does it bring any other advantages compared to the FIM predicate. This was a dead end.

We also spoke with "FIM Europe", they are motivated to keep us and we have mentioned a few points that need to change from our side so that we can continue together. Last Saturday in Rome was a FIM meeting where this was discussed. There is one more important point about the insurance that has not yet been clarified. If we manage to come to a common denominator, we will continue to compete with the "FIM Europe" title.

2. The promoter:

The new promoter of the series is "GA Promotion", so professionally organised race events are guaranteed.

3. The calendar:

There are planned 8 races at 3 events. In the new format we reduce the number of events, but overall offer more track time than we have had at 5 events in the past. We do this for different reasons:

• For teams with long journeys it is easier and cheaper to participate in the whole championship

• There is significantly more driving time per weekend for all drivers

• Riders who want to start in other championships in addition to the "European Championship" are easier this way

• Cost Reduction: predicate costs & travelling costs

Provisional calendars (the dates may change a bit)

April Misano (IT) 3 days (kick-off training optional)

May/June Brno (CZ) 3 days

July Oschersleben (DE) 3 days

August Red Bull Ring (AT) 2 days

Average track time per day is 1.5 hours

4. Registration beginning:

The final calendar with the confirmed dates will be published in early December. At this point, the entry starts. Another change for 2018 will be that drivers will have to pre-pay for the entire season. We need to achieved a minimum number of drivers until Christmas, that we have certainty for the planning and organisation of the championship.

5. Cost:

The exact costs can only be determined when all points have been clarified. But we will certainly improve the price / performance ratio.

6. Optional additional event:

One additional idea is to organize a race after the end of the season, where all (top) riders of all Supermono classes (ESA, France, Italy, England and Scandinavia) are invited to compete in a common "Race of Champions". I will have discussions with the organizers of the countries in this regard. This is detached and independent of the "Supermono EM".

This is the current state of affairs, we would appreciate feedback on your part. To all those who plan to participate in the "Supermono EM" next year, please write me a short non-binding mail. m.kraemer@kraemer-motorcycles.com
