Austrian Wimmer and Frauenschuh the strongest at Grobnik (HR)

The weather is the talk of the day during the Alpe Adria event at Automotodrom Grobnik, but Saturday there was a bright sky and no rain. In the first race the Austrian Josef Frauenschuh had a very good start and was battling with his compatriot Lukas Wimmer for the first place.

In the first corner the Dutchman Jerry van de Bunt was forth, but managed to pass the German Johann Karl in the first lap, who held the third place at that moment. Van de Bunt managed to keep the third place the rest of the race despite the problems he had with the clutch. After three laps the positions at the front of the race were settled and the distance between the numbers 1, 2 and 3 is growing every lap.

But a little behind them there was a tough but fair fight between three riders on a HKR EVO 2 for places 6, 7 and 8. In the end the German Dennis Bayreuther won this battle and managed to be the best Rookie for the fourth time.

On Sunday the second race had totally different weatherconditions. Frauenschuh again had a good start despite the rain and took the lead from the beginning and made the gap onto number two greater and greater. Lukas Wimmer and Jerry van de Bunt followed as second and third. The German Dominik Werkstetter had to start from the pit-lane because of a technical failure but achieved to finish sixth.

The Dutch Mike Velthuijzen handled the weatherconditions very well. During the whole race he was in a big fight with the Rookie Dennis Bayreuther, but because of his experience he managed to finshed third, before van de Bunt and Bayreuther.

After the race Wimmer, who had the lead the hole weekend with laptimes of only 1 minute and 36 seconds, mentioned that in this race he had to cope with an engine which was not running as smooth as he used to run. That is why a second place was all that was possible.

Best Rookie was again the above mentioned Dennis Bayreuther.
