Jerry van de Bunt had a double win at the ‘Schleizer Dreieck’.

Last weekend 32 participants take part in the third round of the FIM Europe Supermono cup at the Schleizer Dreieck (GER) during the Superbike IDM-event as a supporting program. This round was a cooperation with the KTM duke battle and the Pro Mono-riders. The races were overshadowed by a very serious accident from the KTM Duke Battle rider Michaël Verbrugghe #15, during the second qualification. Michaël, we send you our sincere good wishes, and we hope you will get a soon and good recovery.

The results from the races with these combined classes are as follows:

FIM-Europe European Supermono-Cup Race 1 1. Jerry van de Bunt (NED) 2. Mike Velthuijzen (NED) 3. Ezequiel Iturrioz (ARG)

Jerry van de Bunt on the Happeck Rotax 449 started this race from pole. But Ezequiel Iturrioz on a HKR EVO2 R had a very good start and was able to lead the first three laps. Then Mike Velthuijzen on a TZM 250 MVS Yamaha seems to overcome his technical problems from the last races and took over. But then Jerry van de Bunt showed why he got the pole and managed with a great pace to climbed from the eight place after the start to the lead in the last three laps.

FIM-Europe European Supermono-Cup Race 2 1. Jerry van de Bunt (NED) 2. Josef Frauenschuh (AUT) 3. Mike Velthuijzen (NED)

Although Jerry van de Bunt had lesser power because he used a 450-cillinder engine, he managed to keep the damage at the start of the race under control and entered the first corner as fourth. But Ezequiel Iturrioz had again a very good start and took the lead in the first corner. Unfortunately he suffered a broken shift pedal and had to stop the race after the third lap. In the second lap Jerry van de Bunt took the lead and with each next lap he edged off with almost one second per lap. But the three riders behind him (Lukas Wimmer, Mike Velthuijzen and Josef Frauenschuh) made very interesting fights, which was exciting to watch. At the end Frauenschuh gained with an increddible 1.35,240 as the quickest racelap, the second place. Velthuijzen entered third and Wimmer fourth.
