DOUBLE WIN AND 2015 TITLE FOR WIMMER IN OSCHERSLEBEN

Some 24 riders from across Europe gathered at the Oscherleben Circuit for round 3 of the FIM Europe Supermono Cup.

The European Supermonos are since 2003 a support class at the WEC weekend.

Race 1

Pole setter Lukas Wimmer took a blistering start followed by fellow country man Frauenschuh but not for long as Dutch rider Jerry van de Bunt took over second position trying to take the lead but got stuck in traffic half way the race. Wimmer took a superior win after 10 laps with an advantage of 6,4 seconds on van de Bunt.

Race 2

Race 2 was red flagged after a crash of German pilot Manni Kehrmann in the Hasseroeder turn as two corners further on the track Jerry van de Bunt hit the ground hard.

Both riders were taken to hospital.

After the restart for 10 laps it was a rehearsal of race one.

Wimmer rode a superior flag to finish race followed with a gap of 13 seconds by Josef Frauenschuh and Dutch Guest rider Gerritsen.

Despite one more round to go in October in Assen Wimmer claimed the 2015 FIM Europe Supermono title.

With 4 clear wins out of 4 round nobody was able to beat this season the youngster from Austria.
